INFORMATION SERVICES

Below are some of the services offered by the Environmental Resource and Information Centre (ERIC).

This is a free and confidential helpline service which is available for any enquiries regarding environmental, food, health and safety and related issues. Through this service, the BEA can provide specific information and advice to its members. This service operated by the Environmental Resource and Information Centre (ERIC) is available during office hours on 01254 669024.

Environmental Advisor

Each month the BEA sifts current environmental information for news which may be of interest to its members. Our bulletin is produced containing news of forthcoming regulations, technologies, local events and case studies, best practise and other environmental information.

It is here that Patron Sponsors' logos are displayed to around 400 BEA Members each month.

Search & Send

We constantly monitor the environmental, health and safety media and where appropriate prepare our own articles for distribution to the BEA membership.

By profiling your business we are able to select relevant articles relating to your operations, ensuring you receive ONLY timely and relevant information, NOT junk mailings that are discarded instantly and in themselves represent an environmentally unfriendly act!! Whilst Search & Send is a FREE BEA Member Service it can also be purchased as a stand-alone service from Lancashire Business Environment Association for non members.

ELUS

If you require more detailed information about changes in environmental legislation we provide a further paid-for service called Environmental Legislation Update Service (ELUS).

Are you bemused by the amount of environmental, health and safety legislation coming into force recently? Would you like to keep on top of these changes? Are you operating within recent legislation?

If you answered yes to any or all of these questions then the Environmental Legislation Update Service (ELUS) is what you need. Similar in many ways to Search & Send the Environmental Legislation Update Service monitors all relevant Government Departments and the Environment Agency and produces legislation updates. Using another profiling system the updates are sent to organisations to which the changes are relevant. These updates are in a standard format issued on a monthly basis and can be readily and easily inserted into an existing Folder of Legislation. There are 2 levels of the Environmental Legislation Update Service:

1. Monthly targeted updates only for an annual subscription of £175
2. Full Folder of Legislation complete with ELUS CD-ROM, monthly targeted updates and a quarterly replacement ELUS CD-ROM for an annual subscription of £350

The benefit of having an ELUS CD-ROM is that you can perform your own searches for legislation that might have a bearing on your operations.
